The HIV Situation in My Country
Related to country: Zambia

Until very recently, the problem of HIV in my country seemed somewhat distant to me and my inner circle, this has changed substantially after I visited one of the HIV treatment centers here in the city of Lusaka, from what i have seen, the problem is growing pretty fast, and we might be needing more help than we care to admitt.

The pattern of infection has trewmendously shifted. This is so because HIV has previously been synonymous with promiscuity, something that no longer holds true.

The situation is a desperate one and we need more people to try and fight this.

There are quite a number of drawbacks that will certainly affect this struggle in a negative way.

1. Financial Resources
2. Will power to keep the fight alive
3. The inability for the youth to comprehend the magnitude of the problem at hand

Finnaly I would like to suggest that, if the above are to be dealt with, then we might have some sorta direction in this so-desperate fight.

TREAMENT CENTERS

I have had the previlage of working in an HIV treatment center and have also notices some flaws in these programmes. My aim is not to criticise these efforts but to compliment them by adding my voice to the struggle.

Things such as nutrition and patient follow-ups are still an issue in these treatment centers, even though humangous amounts of money are being invested for this purpose.

I will go on discusing this topic.
